About Robert Loder Jr
Robert A. Loder Jr., formerly of Brielle, New Jersey, exhibited his work throughout New Jersey and also in his gallery, Gull Studios of Bay Head, for a number of years. His acrylic paintings on canvas, masonite and under glass, pen and ink sketches, and photography concentrate on the Jersey Shore, Maine and Cape Cod. His paintings have appeared in private collections in the United States and Europe and in collections of The Harbor League Club of Camden and the American Foreign Shipping Company.
A self-taught painter, Loder has won awards at indoor and outdoor shows in New Jersey. He was a member of the New Jersey Chapter of the American Artists Professional League, the Westfield Art Association, the Ocean County Artists Guild and the Manasquan River Group of Artists. He was also a member of the National Maritime Historical Society. Loder was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania where he studied journalism. He has been a newspaper reporter and editor and a public relations and marketing executive in the health care field.
Loder passed away in July 2008. His art remained for a number of years in the Main Street Galleria in Ocean Grove. His art truly reflected his love of the Jersey Shore.
